Every year Auburn Youth Programs hosts a variety of summer camps and programs. Some camps are referred to as application camps, meaning students must apply and be selected to attend.

Read on for our list of the five things you need to know before you apply.

1. When do applications open?

Applications open December 1st, when the majority of Summer 2022 camp registration opens1.

2. What can I do to prepare?

  • Know your dates- The application deadline can be found on each camp’s webpage and on the first page of the camp application. Late applications are not accepted.
  • Read the instructions before applying. Some camps also have a Frequently Asked Questions tab on the camp’s webpage.
  • Ask questions early! If you have any questions about the application, we recommend that you email auyouth@auburn.edu as soon as possible so we can answer your questions before you start your application.
  • Put your best foot forward- Check your application for any errors before you click the submit button.

3. What does the application process look like?

You will fill out an application online and submit documents by upload, or email. Be sure to read all of the instructions before applying! Once the application deadline passes, the application committee for each camp will review applications. All camp decisions will be sent via email. Accepted students must formally accept their spot by a specific date and most application camps have a $100 deposit that must be paid to hold your spot. These details will be communicated in the acceptance email. Campers will have until May 1 to pay all camp fees.

4. Once accepted, how do I register my student?

Registration is held online on our website: http://www.auburn.edu/outreach/opce/auburnyouthprograms/resources.htm

5. Is there a waitlist?

Some, but not all, application camps will have a waitlist. In the event an accepted student does not accept their spot, Auburn Youth Programs will reach out to the first student on the waitlist. The student will have to accept or decline the spot by a specified date. Our office staff will continue to move down the waitlist until all spots are filled. It is important to note that Auburn Youth Programs does not release waitlist rankings or order.
