In partnership with Auburn Youth Programs, Auburn University’s School of Veterinary Science will be hosting a 3-day Virtual Vet Camp Experience!

Second-year veterinary students, with faculty, technicians and staff provide the veterinary coursework campers will take, which is similar to actual veterinary education. In this 3-day virtual camp, campers will learn about public health, food animals, wildlife, anatomy, imaging, and first aid, as well as gain valuable mentoring about veterinary science careers.

Students can expect online materials, live interactive instruction, hands-on activities facilitated by AU vet students and clinicians, Q&A with vet students, team competition with other participants, helpful hints on taking care of your pet including information on toxic plants and food, a certificate of completion/participation of vet camp experience, and more!

Sam Reitz attended Virtual Vet Camp Experience last summer and said:

“Something that I enjoyed the most, was that we got to watch pre-recorded videos that included live animals. For example, we watched one that showed how a vet does a full exam on a horse. I learned that horses breathe very slowly and that when they do breathe, it makes a “lub dub” noise!”

Separate camps for junior high, senior high, and rising 12th graders will be offered, with a flexible schedule tailored for optimal online learning.

Sessions: You will attend the morning session OR the afternoon session. We will do our best to place your camper in the session you have requested.
· Morning Sessions — 8:00 am CST — 12:00 pm CST
· Afternoon Sessions — 1:00 pm CST — 5:00 pm CST
